Prince Andrew is facing escalating security threats as King Charles intensifies his push for the Duke of York to vacate the 30-room Royal Lodge. With rumors swirling that Andrew might relocate to Sarah Ferguson’s vacant £4 million residence in central London, concerns about his safety are growing.
Moving into Fergie’s Mayfair home could expose the “disgraced” Prince to serious risks, including becoming “the target of terrorist threats and kidnapping.” This alarming possibility was highlighted by royal commentator Gareth Russell during an interview with GB News.
Russell emphasized that Frogmore Cottage, previously occupied by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, would be the safest option for Andrew. “And whatever one thinks of Prince Andrew, certainly, he is an immensely controversial figure,” Russell noted. “Frequently in polls, he is the least popular member of the Royal Family by quite a distance.”
Russell further explained the dangers facing the Duke, stating, “Andrew is also the brother of the sovereign, and as a result, he will be a target of terrorist threats and kidnapping, which is why the safest thing for him to do is to go into Frogmore, because it’s within the Windsor security court, which means that it is within an area of Crown land that is already protected by security.”
Frogmore Cottage, situated within the highly secure Windsor estate, offers the kind of protection that could safeguard Andrew without imposing additional costs on the monarchy or the taxpayers. “So if he goes to Frogmore, he will be safe at no extra cost, either to the monarchy or to the taxpayer,” Russell concluded.
As King Charles continues to pressure Prince Andrew to leave the Royal Lodge, the Duke’s next move remains uncertain. However, the potential threats to his safety make the decision of where to live increasingly critical.
