Trump Has to Be Careful”: Kamala Harris and Donald Trump Gear Up for High-Stakes Debate

This Tuesday is set to be a pivotal moment in the race for the White House, as Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump face off in what is likely the only presidential debate before the upcoming election. With the polls showing them in a tight contest, this debate could be a crucial turning point for both candidates.

Conservative podcaster Megyn Kelly, who has had a history of feuding with Trump, recently offered a cautionary warning for the former president, urging him to be prepared for Harris’ tactics. “Harris is being coached to stay calm and avoid getting drawn into Trump’s personal attacks,” Kelly said, as reported by Newsweek. She elaborated, “She and her team are focusing on how to unsettle and rattle Trump.

It’s less about substance and more about presenting Harris as a woman who isn’t afraid.” Kelly also suggested that Harris could play the “victim card,” using her gender to defend against Trump’s attacks. “Trump has to be careful. He can’t do anything aggressive even though she’ll be aggressive against him,” Kelly added.

The tension between Trump and Kelly stretches back to before Trump’s first presidential run in 2016, when Kelly challenged him during a debate, leading to a public feud. Now, as the stakes rise once more, Kelly’s warning highlights the unpredictable nature of their upcoming clash.

Meanwhile, Harris has also been sharpening her focus on Trump’s tactics, hinting that he may resort to dishonesty during the debate. In a recent interview on The Rickey Smiley Morning Show, Harris remarked, “Trump plays from this really old and tired playbook, right? There’s no floor for him in terms of how low he will go, and we should be prepared for that.”

s reported by CNBC, She added, “We should be prepared for the fact that he is not burdened by telling the truth, and we should be prepared for the fact that he is probably going to speak a lot of untruth.” Harris emphasized that her strategy will focus on highlighting Trump’s self-interest and his failure to prioritize the American people.

“I think that’s going to come out during the debate,” Harris said. “I expect that he’s gonna, you know, I think he’s gonna lie.” Reflecting on Trump’s past campaigns, she continued, “He has a playbook that he has used in the past, be it, you know, his attacks on President [Barack] Obama or [former Democratic nominee] Hillary Clinton. So we should expect some of that might come out.”

With early voting already underway in some states, Democrats believe this debate could be a game-changer for Harris. As reported by The Hill, a Democratic strategist noted, “It can make or break her… we’re not exactly where we want to be.”

Many Democrats hope that Harris can leverage this debate to boost her momentum, especially by addressing key voter concerns such as the economy. As the candidates prepare for the debate, all eyes will be on Harris and Trump as they face one of the most critical moments in the race to the White House.
