Prince Harry Branded ‘Stupid’ for Writing Memoir ‘Spare,’ Says Royal Expert

Prince Harry’s decision to write his 2023 memoir Spare continues to stir controversy, with royal experts criticizing the Duke of Sussex for what they describe as an ill-advised and damaging move. The book delves deeply into his strained relationships with his father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William, revealing private family matters that many believe should have remained behind closed doors,

Jennie Bond, a royal expert, did not hold back in her critique of Harry’s decision to publish such personal details. “It was deplorable and stupid—I think he was a very silly boy to write Spare,” she said. Bond expressed disappointment that Harry chose to expose the inner workings of his family, especially for financial gain. “But then to go and start being really nasty about the royal family just to make money…” she added, implying that his motivations were less than noble.

Bond compared Harry’s actions to those of Edward VIII, who famously abdicated the throne and moved abroad but maintained silence about his family despite his controversial personal life. “When Edward VIII abdicated and became the Duke of Windsor, he went abroad too. But he never, ever said anything about the royal family—he might have met Hitler, but he didn’t say a bit about the royal family,” she pointed out, suggesting that Harry could have taken a more restrained approach in dealing with his grievances. according to The Sun.

Arthur Edwards, another royal expert, echoed Bond’s sentiments but added that Harry’s choice to step away from royal duties and live in the U.S. was understandable. “He wanted to leave the royal family, and he wanted to live in America with Meghan—that’s his choice,” Edwards said. However, like Bond, he seemed to question the wisdom of Harry airing so much family drama in his memoir.

Despite the backlash surrounding Spare, Harry appeared to be in good spirits during his recent visit to the UK for the WellChild Awards. Attendees noted that the Duke looked visibly content, a stark contrast to his recent appearances, where he had seemed more reserved and downcast. A source close to the event commented, “He always came alive at events like this, but lately he has seemed quite glum. He was on good form, full of energy, and seemed quite happy to be on his own.”

While the criticism of his memoir lingers, Harry’s involvement in charitable work like the WellChild Awards seems to bring him a sense of fulfillment. However, his decision to publish Spare and reveal intimate details about the royal family continues to draw strong reactions from royal watchers and experts alike.
