Legendary actor Al Pacino, known as one of Hollywood’s greatest talents, has opened up about the heartbreaking loss of his mother, Rose Gerard Pacino, in his new memoir Sonny Boy. In a candid reflection, Pacino recalls his mother’s tragic death from an overdose when he was just 22 years old, a defining moment in his life that left a lasting impact.

In Sonny Boy, which is named after the affectionate nickname his mother used for him, the 84-year-old actor writes about his mother’s struggles with mental health and depression. Pacino’s parents had divorced when he was only two, leaving his mother as a single parent.
