Cheryl Hines has opened up about the swirling rumors surrounding her husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and the alleged cheating scandal that has made headlines. While attending the Groundlings 50th Anniversary Event in Los Angeles, Hines, 59, addressed the speculation in a candid interview with Us Weekly, making it clear that she is dealing with the situation on her own terms.
“Lots of emotions with rumors!” Hines exclaimed, while notably still wearing her wedding ring. However, rather than delve deeply into the allegations, the Curb Your Enthusiasm star offered a surprising response: “But, it will all be in my book. I’m writing a book. I’ve been taking notes — serious notes!” This revelation came as the actress responded to questions about her husband’s alleged sexting scandal with political reporter Olivia Nuzzi.
In her usual lighthearted manner, Hines emphasized that despite the heavy rumors, she’s focused on enjoying life with her family. “They’re fun. I mean, if I had a boring family it would be tough,” she said. Hines explained that her approach is to embrace the unknown, noting, “Instead of fighting against it, [I’m] sort of trying to embrace it and just say yes to whatever comes your way.”
The actress, known for her comedic roles, added that she has learned to focus on “little moments” in life and not to take things too seriously. “Even though I find myself in very serious situations!” Hines quipped. She shares a 20-year-old daughter, Catherine Rose, with her ex-husband Paul Young. Kennedy, on the other hand, has six children from previous relationships: Bobby, 40, Kathleen, 36, Conor, 30, Kyra, 29, William, 26, and Aidan, 23.
Hines also gave insight into the secret of her long-lasting marriage with Kennedy, despite the ups and downs. She described how the couple managed to get through difficult times together. “There’s a connection that you look at your husband or your partner and all the crazy going on around you, or you look and you check in and it’s like, ‘OK. It’s going to be OK. We’re going to move through this moment,'” she shared.
Throughout the interview, Hines’ tone remained positive, despite the ongoing rumors. She highlighted the importance of family, humor, and resilience in navigating both her personal and professional life.
