Ukraine is already facing immense challenges as its neighbor, Russia, continues its aggressive war. But according to Mary Trump, Donald Trump’s niece and a trained psychologist, things could get even worse under a potential Trump administration, according to Al Jazeera.
On Wednesday, Mary Trump took to social media to express her concerns about the war in Ukraine, emphasizing the devastating toll it has already taken on the country. She issued a chilling warning about the future, particularly in the context of a potential second Trump presidency.
“Of all the unthinkable scenarios we’ve been forced to consider since Donald won the election on November 5th is the possibility that all of this will have been for naught,” Mary Trump wrote. “After all, the fate of Ukraine and Zelenskyy may rest with Donald Trump, Putin’s puppet, a man who is enamored of and beholden to the very autocrat who wants to destroy our ally.”
Mary Trump also highlighted the controversial role of Trump ally Elon Musk, who has reportedly engaged in conversations with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Musk has also drawn criticism for mocking Zelenskyy at times, further complicating the international situation.
“As unthinkable as it may be, we must contemplate how the world will react if, as seems likely, Donald withdraws the United States’ support from Ukraine in order to appease Vladimir Putin, his puppet-master—and our enemy,” Mary Trump wrote. “What will happen to Ukraine and Zelenskyy when one of their staunchest allies betrays them?”
Despite the dire circumstances, Mary Trump pointed out the resilience of the Ukrainian people. She reminded readers of Ukraine’s powerful defiance in the face of adversity, citing the iconic response to a Russian warship, “Russian warship, go f— yourself.”
“It’s going to get so much worse under the Trump administration so we must continue to support Ukraine in whatever way we can,” she urged. Mary Trump concluded her statement with a stark message to her uncle, saying, “And we can start by saying to my uncle, ‘Go f— yourself.'”
Her words underscore the growing concerns about the future of Ukraine should Donald Trump return to power, and the potential consequences of his foreign policy decisions.
