Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, is preparing for another solo engagement as the Global Ambassador for Scotty’s Little Soldiers, a charity supporting children who have lost a military parent. This Christmas season, he plans to host a special video call with members of the charity, offering them a glimpse into “what Christmas is like for a prince.”
The festive call is scheduled for Tuesday, December 10, at 6 PM BTS. Prince Harry aims to connect with as many children as possible, spreading holiday cheer and acknowledging the unique challenges they face during this time of year.
“Prince Harry would like to jump on a call with as many of our members as possible to wish them all a Merry Christmas,” read an email sent to the charity’s members. The message emphasized the Duke’s understanding of the difficulties the festive season can bring for these children and his desire to show he’s thinking of them.
During the call, Prince Harry will greet attendees and answer pre-submitted questions. Given the anticipated high turnout, most participants will be muted. However, five lucky members will interact directly with the Duke and assist in facilitating the session. “This is your chance to get to know the Duke better and find out what Christmas is like for a Prince!” the charity shared in its announcement.
The Duke of Sussex has long been an advocate for Scotty’s Little Soldiers. Founded in 2010 by Army widow Nikki Scott, the organization was inspired by her two young children’s experience of losing their father, Corporal Lee Scott, who died in Afghanistan in 2009, told Page Six.
Prince Harry has previously shown his dedication to bringing joy to the charity’s members. Last year, he surprised them with a Christmas video while dressed as Spider-Man and handed out sweets during their Remembrance Sunday march past the Cenotaph.
This engagement is part of a busy few months for Prince Harry. He attended the WellChild Awards in the UK, completed solo engagements in New York, and visited Africa. Earlier this week, he made an unannounced visit to Vancouver, Canada, to promote the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025.
Through his ongoing efforts, the Duke continues to support causes close to his heart, spreading hope and joy to those in need during the holiday season.
