Jessica Alba recently opened up about the complexities of her marriage in a candid video, sharing her insights on long-term relationships just as news of her divorce surfaced. Alba, 43, and film producer Cash Warren, 45, are reportedly ending their nearly 17-year marriage, according to a source who spoke to TMZ on Wednesday.

In the video, Alba spoke about the gradual changes that occur in a relationship over time. “It’s all rosy for two and a half years. But then after that, you become roommates,” she shared. “You’re just going through the motions. You have the responsibilities. It’s a lot of, like, checking the boxes, right?”

The Dark Angel star admitted to sometimes taking their relationship for granted, noting how the comfort of knowing a partner isn’t going anywhere can affect how you treat them. “We have, like, obviously the friendship, the comfort of, like, ‘you’re not going anywhere,’ and so sometimes you don’t treat those people the best, right?” she said.

“You don’t consider their feelings in the way that you would consider other people’s feelings,” Alba continued, acknowledging that this was something she felt needed constant attention and effort.

The actress also revealed that she and Warren worked on confronting their issues and communicating when they were unhappy in an effort to resolve their differences. However, despite their efforts, the couple has decided to part ways.

Alba and Warren, who met on the set of Fantastic Four in 2004 and married in 2008, share three children: Honor, 16, Haven, 13, and Hayes, 7. The couple’s journey has been widely followed by fans, making their decision to divorce a surprising and emotional revelation.

As the two move forward separately, Alba’s reflections on their relationship offer a glimpse into the challenges and realities of maintaining a long-term partnership. The family’s focus is now expected to shift toward co-parenting and supporting their children during this transition.
