Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are relying on more than just love to keep their marriage strong. During a recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Stefani revealed the simple yet powerful advice that has helped their relationship stay on track.
“Make sure you have a third party,” Stefani shared. However, she wasn’t talking about a professional counselor. Instead, she pointed to the sky, making it clear she was referring to spiritual guidance — more specifically, to God.
The 55-year-old pop star and 48-year-old country singer have been together for nearly a decade. Their love story began in 2015 after they met as coaches on The Voice. At the time, both Stefani and Shelton were healing from their respective divorces, finding comfort and connection in their shared experiences.
In October 2020, the couple announced their engagement, and they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in June 2021. Their bond has since become a favorite among fans, many of whom admire the genuine affection and support they show each other both on and off stage, told NBC.
Before finding happiness with Shelton, Stefani was married to Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale. Their 13-year marriage ended amid reports of Rossdale’s alleged affair with their nanny. Stefani and Rossdale share three sons together: Kingston, 18, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 11.
Meanwhile, Shelton was previously married to fellow country superstar Miranda Lambert. He filed for divorce from Lambert just weeks before Stefani’s split from Rossdale, leading both musicians into a period of transition — and ultimately, into each other’s arms.
