Princess of Wales Kate Middleton is reportedly continuing her cancer treatment and remains on “aggressive drugs,” a year after publicly revealing her diagnosis. Her ongoing recovery may have influenced her recent absence from a major royal event, according to royal experts.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, royal commentator Ian Pelham Turner shared that the UK’s current heatwave could be a factor in Kate’s decision to skip the Royal Ascot.
“At the moment we are experiencing a heatwave making London warmer than the Caribbean,” Turner said. “I presume Kate may be feeling the effects of this and, still taking aggressive drugs, may have been told by her doctors to be very careful.”
Turner added that while there are signs of improvement, Kate is still dealing with moments of fatigue. “We are hearing apparently all is well and that Kate is making steady progress but still finds an energy lapse on some occasions,” he noted.
Kate’s absence from the prestigious Royal Ascot event has fueled public speculation and concern. The Princess of Wales was expected to accompany Prince William, who presented the trophy at the Prince of Wales Stakes.
According to a royal insider quoted by the outlet, Kate was “disappointed” to miss the outing. “She would have joined Prince William, who presented the trophy to the winner of the Prince of Wales stakes,” the source said.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams also weighed in, explaining that Kate is still recovering and is likely being cautious. “Catherine is in remission from cancer and is striving to find the right balance of engagements as she recovers, obviously much influenced by medical advice,” he said.
“She has recently appeared at [several key events]. It may also be that the heat affected her decision.” Kate’s ongoing absence and selective public appearances have sparked concern inside the palace, with many watching closely for signs of her recovery.
Her recent decision to skip the high-profile Royal Ascot alongside Prince William has once again drawn attention to her health, but experts insist that caution and medical guidance are the primary factors guiding her schedule for now.
