Jennifer Lopez appears to be taking aim at ex-husband Ben Affleck in her new song, “Wreckage of You,” following the end of their two-year marriage in 2024. The 55-year-old singer and actress croons, “I’m stronger after the wreckage of you,” a lyric many believe is a clear reference to her high-profile split from Affleck.
The pair rekindled their romance in 2021, nearly two decades after their first engagement ended, and tied the knot in 2022 before filing for divorce in mid-2024. According to insiders, Lopez is fully embracing this new, unfiltered musical chapter.
“J.Lo’s happy to be singing her truth. She’s totally unapologetic and convinced this will be a launchpad for a whole new musical chapter,” a source told Radar Online.
The insider added that Lopez sees her music as both cathartic and empowering. “If it upsets Ben, then all the better, after the hell he put her through. She hasn’t forgotten the pain, and writing about the experience and setting it to music is helping her.”

Lopez’s lyrics also reportedly flip the narrative of their split. “What she’s insinuating is that Ben’s the one who fell apart, not her,” the source said. Affleck, however, is reportedly far from amused. The Oscar-winning actor is said to be frustrated with Lopez’s musical jabs, wishing she would move on.
“For him, this is a step way too far,” a tipster claimed. “He’s already under big pressure with work, and the last thing he needs right now is friends asking him how he feels about J.Lo’s revenge song lyrics.”
The source added that Affleck wants to leave the marriage firmly in the past. “All he wants is to forget the marriage ever happened, but she’s going out of her way to keep making things awkward and miserable. He’s getting the impression that she wants to punish him till the end of time.”
With “Wreckage of You,” Lopez seems determined to turn personal heartbreak into creative fuel. Whether Affleck likes it or not, the pop star appears ready to own her narrative and kick off a new era in her music career—one built on resilience, self-expression, and a little bit of revenge.
