Breakups can be tough, but Ben Affleck appears to be handling his divorce from Jennifer Lopez with remarkable poise. Following their separation earlier this year, Affleck has reportedly moved forward without dwelling on the past. Sources close to the actor-director revealed that after moving out of the Beverly Hills mansion he once shared with Lopez, he “never looked back” and has been laser-focused on work and family life.
Affleck and Lopez rekindled their romance in 2021 and tied the knot in 2022, nearly two decades after their initial split in 2003. However, their fairy tale reunion unraveled earlier this year, with Lopez filing for divorce in August, citing April 26 as their separation date. For Affleck, the transition was smooth, with one source telling People magazine, “He is very focused on work and his kids.” The actor is said to be “staying busy and happy,” spending his time immersed in professional projects and spending time with his children. At times, he has leaned on his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, for support.
Affleck’s move into a new $20 million home in Los Angeles in July 2024 marked a significant fresh start. The new residence symbolized a clean break, leaving behind any emotional baggage from the split. While Affleck has maintained his professionalism, attending events with Lopez as recently as spring 2024 despite their separation, the two have clearly moved on to different phases of their lives. Professionally, they remain linked through Lopez’s work on film projects with Affleck’s company, Artists Equity.

Lopez, meanwhile, is channeling her energy into her music career. After the release of her album, This Is Me…Now in February 2024, which was deeply influenced by her relationship with Affleck but fell flat in terms of chart performance, she is reportedly planning a major comeback. Insiders reveal that Lopez is aiming to reclaim her spot on the music scene with a “big dance hit.” Despite the album debuting at number 38 on the Billboard 200, Lopez remains determined to bounce back, working with songwriters to craft her next successful project.
Lopez reflected on personal growth in an interview, sharing, “I can’t be looking for happiness in other people. I have to have happiness within myself.” It seems both stars are focused on their futures, each moving forward in their own way.
