Jennifer Lopez is reportedly beginning to heal from her recent divorce by spending time with Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein — and it’s not going unnoticed by her ex-husband, Ben Affleck.
According to Radar Online, Lopez and Goldstein have grown close while filming their upcoming romantic comedy Office Romance, which recently wrapped in the Dominican Republic. The two were allegedly spotted getting cozy at the film’s wrap party, sparking speculation about a blossoming relationship.
Goldstein has previously gushed about Lopez in interviews, and sources say the Hustlers star took notice. “He’s aware of what’s going on with her and Brett and doesn’t want to deprive Jennifer of the right to do what she wants,” a source said of Affleck’s reaction.
However, the insider added that Affleck harbors doubts about how long the relationship will last. “He thinks Brett should get out of it if he knows what’s good for him, but clearly he’s too swept up by Jennifer’s charms to see what’s happening to him. Jennifer is hard on guys and Ben can testify to that.”
Despite his skepticism, Affleck appears somewhat relieved that Lopez is focusing on someone new. “Ben is relieved she’s focused on something new,” the source shared, though he reportedly feels sympathy for Goldstein. “He feels sorry for Brett – he can tell he’s a nice, unassuming character who will be chewed up and spit out.”
The source went on to explain Lopez’s high standards in relationships. “She wants her men to conform to her over-the-top lifestyle and meet her standards of perfection, and that’s an impossible thing to ask of anyone. Ben couldn’t do it and he’s a pretty easygoing guy, in his own estimation. Ben wishes Brett a lot of luck because he’ll need it.”
Lopez’s divorce from Affleck, finalized in 2024, marked her fourth. The pair originally dated in the early 2000s, got engaged in 2002, and broke it off in 2004 before rekindling their romance in 2021. They married in 2022 but ultimately separated after just two years.
While those close to Lopez are reportedly happy to see her moving on, it remains to be seen if this new chapter with Goldstein will stand the test of time.
