Ben Affleck is said to be growing increasingly frustrated with his ex-wife Jennifer Lopez as she continues to embrace a provocative stage persona, despite being in her fifties. According to Heat Magazine, the actor believes Lopez is clinging too tightly to her past rather than aging with confidence and grace.
Lopez is currently on her Up All Night: Live in 2025 tour, delivering bold performances that have kept her in the headlines. However, sources close to Affleck say he feels the performances don’t reflect her true intelligence or talent.
“She’s in her fifties and still so focused on being the sexy girl in the room and getting all the attention for that,” a source told the publication. While Affleck still holds respect for Lopez and acknowledges her star power, he reportedly wishes she would transition into a more refined phase of her career.
“He would be more impressed if she could age gracefully and naturally instead of clinging so hard to the past,” the insider added. “Writhing around on stage like it’s still 2001 is beneath her as far as he’s concerned. He wishes for her sake she’d let that go.”
The source emphasized that Affleck doesn’t object to Lopez owning her sexuality but believes she’s relying on it too heavily as a means of staying relevant.
“He’s said more than once that she’s too talented and too smart to be leaning so hard on sex appeal to stay relevant,” they revealed. “He gets that it’s part of the act it always has been but there’s a way to evolve with dignity, and he doesn’t think she’s doing that.”
From Affleck’s perspective, watching Lopez constantly battle against aging rather than embracing it has become emotionally draining.
“It’s exhausting watching her constantly fight against time instead of leaning into where she’s at in life. And the sad part is, she’s doing all this, and the tour still isn’t the smash she was aiming for,” the source concluded.
The former couple, who rekindled and then reportedly drifted apart again in recent months, continue to make headlines this time with differing views on how to navigate fame, aging, and authenticity.
