Celine Dion is celebrating a significant milestone with a heartwarming note. On July 26, the 56-year-old singer took to her official Instagram account to express her gratitude for her performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony.
In a detailed and touching post, Dion began, “I’m honored to have performed tonight, for the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony, and so full of joy to be back in one of my very favorite cities.”
She continued, “Most of all, I’m so happy to be celebrating these amazing athletes, with all their stories of sacrifice and determination, pain and perseverance.”
Dion further added, “All of you have been so focused on your dream, and whether or not you take home a medal, I hope that being here means that it has come true for you! You should all be so proud, we know how hard you have worked to be the best of the best. Stay focused, and keep going, my heart is with you! – Celine xx…”
The evening’s performance, which concluded with Dion singing “Hymne A L’Amour” by the French singer Édith Piaf, took place on a stage set against the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower. This event marked Dion’s first public performance since her diagnosis with Stiff-Person Syndrome in December 2022.
Dion’s participation in the Olympics opening ceremony not only highlighted her enduring talent but also provided a poignant moment of inspiration and support for the athletes competing in the Games.
