Stormy Daniels issued a defiant message to Donald Trump following his conviction for falsifying business records, proudly declaring it as a “checkmate motherf—er.”
In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, the adult actress broke her silence for the first time since Trump was found guilty of all 34 charges in his hush-money case, with her testimony playing a pivotal role in securing the stunning conviction against the former US president. Stormy, expressing her shock at the swift jury verdict, firmly believes that their decision signifies their trust in her testimony.
The 45-year-old emphasized that Trump had remained “unchecked” until his guilty verdict. However, in the aftermath, she delivered a bold message to the former president, stating, “He’s been unchecked until now. But checkmate motherf—er.”
Regarding the potential sentencing for Trump, Stormy remained uncertain, likening it to disciplining a child. She remarked, “I don’t know what the sentencing could be or what Trump will even understand. It’s like when you have a child, and sometimes you take the electronics away from them, but if your child is very artistic, they don’t care.”
At the heart of Trump’s conviction was the $130,000 (£102,000) payment made to Stormy by Trump’s then-lawyer, Michael Cohen, to ensure her silence about an alleged sexual encounter with Trump. The prosecution argued that Cohen and Trump falsified business records to conceal the reimbursement of the payment.
During closing arguments, prosecutor Joshua Steinglass suggested to the jury that paying to silence Stormy could have influenced Trump’s election victory in 2016. Trump won by narrow margins in several crucial states, including Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, which had not voted Republican for decades.
Reflecting on the upcoming election, Stormy expressed difficulty in voting for Biden but affirmed that she would not support Trump. She emphasized the importance of voting, highlighting that abstaining from voting for Biden effectively supports Trump’s candidacy.
Stormy’s outspokenness underscores her role as a significant figure in contemporary political discourse, as she continues to navigate the aftermath of her involvement in the legal battles surrounding Trump’s presidency.
