Dua Lipa is set to have her new swimming pool at her London mansion dug by hand to prevent any conflicts with her neighbors. The “Training Season” hitmaker has faced a two-year battle with the local council to get the necessary permissions after local residents raised complaints, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
The workers at her £6.75 million home in Hampstead will have to rely on picks and shovels to install the new pool and basement, as reported by the publication. This manual approach is intended to minimize disruption.
According to The Sun, her team explained to planners, “A basement dig would typically have the potential for noise and vibration to pass through to neighboring properties. In this case, as the existing house is completely detached and the dig would be a manual operation, the extent of noise transmission would be mitigated. As a safety measure, movement monitoring would be undertaken to give early warning of any building movement.”
Dua Lipa purchased the expansive property in 2017 for £6.75 million when she was just 22 years old. Despite being given the go-ahead last year, work on the site had to be limited, with equipment required to be mounted with ‘anti-vibration isolators’ to prevent disturbing the neighbors.
Sources from The Sun revealed that last year, Dua’s plans for her house were extensive. After four years of planning, she has finally begun looking for builders to start work on her music studio, pool, gym, cinema, and chillout area.
Daily Mail reported, “No one should be aware any work is taking place and Dua’s neighbors could kick up a stink if they are. Dua doesn’t want to cause any annoyance and she is looking forward to making her house a home.”
The “Levitating” singer’s North London pad has been under renovation plans since she acquired it. Despite submitting plans for extensive renovations, the scheme has faced delays with her local council. Dua’s efforts to minimize disturbance highlight her consideration for her neighbors while pursuing her dream home.
The hand-dug approach to the pool installation is a testament to her dedication to maintaining good relations with the local community. As work progresses, her focus remains on transforming her house into a personal haven without causing any inconvenience to those around her.
