Ellen DeGeneres, once a beloved television host, has reportedly been excluded from participating in the 2028 Olympics due to her “mean antics.” An insider familiar with the situation revealed to In Touch Weekly that “Ellen’s fall from grace has been swift and unforgiving, leading to her exclusion.” The source added, “The decision comes as part of an effort by the Olympic Committee to distance itself from figures embroiled in controversy.”

This decision follows the wave of allegations against DeGeneres that began in 2020, when comedian Kevin T. Porter sparked a viral thread on X (formerly Twitter), inviting people to share their stories about “Ellen being mean.” The responses flooded in, painting a picture of a toxic environment behind the scenes of her popular talk show.

In response to these allegations and her subsequent fall from public favor, Ellen addressed the situation during a Q&A session in Santa Rosa. She told the audience, “This is the last time you’re going to see me. After my Netflix special, I’m done.” She further remarked, “For those of you keeping score, this is the second time I’ve been kicked out of show business. Eventually, they’re going to kick me out for a third time because I’m mean, old, and gay.”

Ellen’s downfall began in 2020 when 11 former guests and crew members came forward with accusations, claiming that the host had perpetuated a toxic work environment on her show. These allegations ultimately led to the cancellation of The Ellen DeGeneres Show after 19 seasons, marking a dramatic shift in her career and public image.

The decision by the Olympic Committee to exclude DeGeneres from the 2028 Games highlights the ongoing consequences of her tarnished reputation. Once a symbol of kindness and positivity, Ellen’s legacy has been overshadowed by the claims of mistreatment and her admitted struggles with maintaining her public persona.

As Ellen steps away from the spotlight, the entertainment world is left to grapple with the complexities of her legacy—a tale of meteoric rise, a swift fall, and the enduring impact of personal conduct on public and professional life. The former talk show host’s exclusion from the global stage of the Olympics serves as a stark reminder of how quickly fortunes can change in the world of entertainment.
