Angela Levin, a noted royal commentator and outspoken critic of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, has shared her thoughts following comments by Donald Trump’s son, Eric Trump, regarding Prince Harry’s U.S. residency status. Eric Trump, in a statement to the Daily Mail, addressed speculation around Prince Harry’s visa, hinting at what the future might hold for the Duke of Sussex should his father, Donald Trump, be re-elected as U.S. president.
Amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding Harry’s U.S. visa—especially following his admissions in his memoir, Spare, about past drug use—Eric Trump suggested that the prince has little to worry about. He claimed that Prince Harry’s visa is “safe” because “no one cares” about him or his “unpopular” wife, Meghan Markle.
Levin took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to respond to Eric Trump’s remarks. She wrote, “Donald Trump’s son Eric says Prince Harry’s visa is safe because ‘no one cares’ about him or Meghan.” Levin went on to question how the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who have often described themselves as global figures, might react to this dismissive sentiment. “Will being described as irrelevant be the worst description possible for a couple who talk about themselves being global?” Levin added, highlighting the Trumps’ skepticism of the couple’s influence.
Since relocating to the U.S., Harry has faced scrutiny over his visa application, with some critics suggesting he may not have disclosed his drug use history accurately. In his memoir, Spare, published in 2023, Harry openly recounted experimenting with various substances, a detail that some speculate could impact his U.S. residency status. However, Eric Trump’s comments indicate that, under his family’s watch, the issue would likely be dismissed.

“Truthfully, I don’t give a damn about Prince Harry, and I don’t think this country does either,” Eric Trump said, adding, “I don’t give a damn if he did drugs. It means nothing.” He added that the Trump family holds the British monarchy in high regard. “I can tell you that our father and our entire family have tremendous respect for the monarchy.”
Levin, a vocal commentator on Harry and Meghan’s post-royal life, frequently critiques the couple’s public statements and actions. Known for her skepticism about their self-proclaimed global influence and media presence, Levin has often argued that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s influence has diminished since their move to California.
The Trump family’s opinions on the British monarchy have made headlines in the past. Donald Trump, known for his admiration of Queen Elizabeth II, often expressed respect for the institution and its longstanding traditions. Levin’s response to Eric Trump’s comments reflects her own critical stance, as she continues to question the public relevance and global influence Harry and Meghan claim to hold.
As Prince Harry continues his life in the U.S., rumors about his residency and visa status persist, though many legal experts have indicated that his admissions in Spare are unlikely to affect his immigration status. Meanwhile, as the Sussexes continue their advocacy and charity work, their reception by the American public remains a topic of debate—especially among critics like Levin and public figures like Eric Trump who question the relevance of their role outside the royal sphere.
