Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, one of Hollywood’s favorite couples, are reportedly at odds over a significant lifestyle difference—animal rights. While Gwen is a long-time advocate for animal welfare and has maintained a vegan lifestyle for years, Blake is an enthusiastic hunter. This contrast in views has begun to cause tension between the two.
An insider close to the couple recently revealed to Life & Style, “They agreed to disagree about his hunting back when they first got together.” However, it seems that this difference is becoming harder for Gwen to cope with as time goes on.
“Gwen is a huge animal rights person and has been mostly vegan for a long time, so it’s pretty hard to have her husband out there killing animals for a good time,” the source added. Although Gwen knew about Blake’s passion for hunting when they first started dating, the reality of it seems to be a growing issue for her.
The insider continued to explain that while Gwen has tried to sway Blake’s opinion on hunting, it’s a subject he is unwavering on. “She’s certainly tried to get him to see her point, but it’s not something he will ever back down on. Still, the least he could do is be a little more low-key about it,” the insider shared.
Adding fuel to the fire, Blake’s attitude toward Gwen’s discomfort has reportedly made things worse. “He seems to get a kick out of rubbing it in her face, even though he knows it makes her sick to her stomach,” the source revealed. This insistence from Blake on pushing his views, particularly in such a sensitive area, is causing some concern among Gwen’s inner circle.
“When he thinks he’s in the right about something, he won’t shut up about it,” said the source, highlighting Blake’s stubbornness on the topic. “She’s always said it won’t be a deal breaker for her, but friends are seriously questioning how such opposites can go the distance.”
Despite their deep love for one another, this clash of values has left some wondering whether their relationship can truly thrive long-term when faced with such fundamental differences. For now, it seems Gwen and Blake are continuing to navigate this challenge as best they can.
