“People Won’t Forgive Harry and Meghan for Making Her Last Years a Bit of a Misery,” Royal Expert Claims

A royal expert has issued a strong statement about what he believes is the one thing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may never be forgiven for the emotional toll their actions allegedly took on Queen Elizabeth II in the final years of her life.

Speaking on The Sun’s Exclusive show, royal biographer Phil Dampier opened up about the late monarch’s unwavering commitment to duty and her hopes for a lasting royal legacy. He suggested that the personal turmoil surrounding the Royal Family in her last years particularly involving Prince Andrew, as well as Harry and Meghan’s royal exit deeply impacted the Queen.

“I just think that she worked her whole life trying to make sure that the monarchy succeeded after her. And the legacy was the most important thing to her and the Commonwealth, of course, as well,” Dampier began.

He went on to reflect on the emotional burden the Queen may have carried. “It must have been absolutely heartbreaking for her to see what was happening with Prince Andrew and what was happening with Harry and Meghan leaving in her final years,” he said.

Dampier noted the timing of these personal and institutional challenges, especially as they unfolded after the death of Prince Philip, the Queen’s husband of over 70 years. “To cope with that as she was approaching the end and Prince Philip died and all this happened right at the end of her life I think it must have been absolutely heartbreaking for her,” he explained.

The royal expert didn’t mince words when assessing public sentiment toward the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. He stated, “That’s probably the thing that people won’t forgive Harry and Meghan for making her last years a bit of a misery.”

While Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and have since settled into life in California, the fallout from their departure and their later public interviews criticizing royal life continues to stir debate.

For many royal watchers and monarchists, Dampier’s remarks reflect a sentiment that goes beyond family drama: the perception that the Queen, a symbol of stability, spent her final days surrounded by upheaval and personal disappointment.
