Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have released a powerful statement through their Archewell Foundation, underlining their commitment to protecting families and children in the digital age — a message that comes amid speculation about a possible royal reunion.

Since stepping back from royal duties in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have focused much of their energy on charitable work, particularly through the Archewell Foundation. One of their key missions has been to support safer technology and advocate for increased protections in the face of rapidly advancing digital tools, including artificial intelligence.

In a new update shared Friday, the couple reaffirmed their goals, spotlighting their Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund (RTYPF) grantees and celebrating recent victories in the U.S. Senate.

Archewell wrote that it “uplifts Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund grantees, many of whom were influential in the recent Senate vote to remove a 10-year AI Moratorium, which would strip states’ authorities to act on AI: removing protections for child safety, deepfake regulation, and more.”

The foundation emphasized the importance of involving youth in decision-making about the technologies that will shape their future. “The work highlighted a need to keep young people at the table where decisions are being made about technology that will shape their futures and all our lives,” the statement noted.

Among the standout contributors was Advocacy Director Ava Smithing of The Young People’s Alliance, who played a leading role in pushing for the removal of the moratorium. Another grantee, Encode AI, helped draft a letter opposing the AI ban.

“The letter led to an almost unanimous 99-1 vote to remove the language from the bill,” the statement read. “The vote to remove this AI moratorium is a small step toward keeping technology safe by design.”

This update from Harry and Meghan comes at a potentially pivotal time for the couple. Reports suggest that Prince Harry may reconnect with his father, King Charles, at a significant event in the near future.

Helen Helliwell, CEO of the Invictus Games, which will be held in Birmingham in 2027, commented on the possibility of royal involvement, saying while it’s “too soon to confirm who’s going to be there,” organizers would be “delighted if members of the royal family were able to attend.”
