Casper Smart, ex-boyfriend of Jennifer Lopez, found himself in legal trouble after being linked to a cannabis grow operation. The dancer’s Los Angeles home was raided on December 20 at approximately 9 a.m. local time following a tip-off to law enforcement, TMZ reported.
During the raid, officers discovered a “small- to medium-size” cannabis grow operation. Smart, 37, was present at the residence along with an unidentified woman when authorities executed the search warrant. While Smart was not arrested, he was cited and released at the scene.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office will determine whether to press charges against him, according to the publication. Smart is best known for his on-again, off-again relationship with Jennifer Lopez, now 55, which lasted from 2011 to 2016 after her split from ex-husband Marc Anthony.
In the early stages of their relationship, Smart clarified that their connection was initially professional before evolving into something more. “The chemistry was there. You can’t fight it,” he said at the time. However, their romance faced turbulence. In 2014, Page Six reported that the pair had broken up amid rumors that Smart had engaged in sexually explicit conversations with models behind Lopez’s back.
