Prince William and Kate Middleton are preparing for a major royal summit this August that could shape the future of the monarchy, according to royal insiders.
Despite her ongoing health concerns, the Princess of Wales is expected to attend the important Balmoral Summit alongside Prince William. While Kate has stepped back from many public duties to focus on her recovery, sources say this particular gathering is too significant for her to miss.
The Balmoral meeting, scheduled to take place at the royal family’s Scottish estate, will involve senior royals and is expected to cover a range of issues tied to the future of the monarchy.
Insiders told Closer Magazine that although all working members of the royal family have been invited to attend, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are notably excluded. However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will still be a major talking point at the summit.
“Harry and Meghan will be the main focal point of discussion at the summit, and Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s future will be looked at,” a source revealed.
The insider also noted that discussions will go beyond the Sussexes and extend to the Prince and Princess of Wales’ own children. “The future of the Wales children will also be on the agenda, as well as Kate’s position – and even Princess Eugenie and Beatrice’s ever-developing roles,” they added.
Since stepping down as senior royals in 2020 and relocating to the United States, Harry and Meghan have remained distant from royal affairs. Their highly publicized interviews and documentaries, which included allegations against members of the royal family, have contributed to a strained relationship with King Charles, William, and Kate.
With the royal family facing internal shifts and ongoing scrutiny, the upcoming Balmoral Summit is being viewed as a pivotal moment. Questions about succession planning, the evolving roles of younger royals, and the future involvement if any of the Sussex children are expected to be thoroughly discussed.
While it remains to be seen what decisions will come from the summit, one thing is certain: the monarchy is bracing for significant changes, and the presence of Kate and William signals just how crucial this meeting will be.
