Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, has reportedly stopped worrying about the ongoing rift between Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and the rest of the royal family. Once seen as a key figure working to heal the fractured relationship, Middleton has now shifted her focus to other important matters.
Royal author Christopher Andersen recently shared insights into Middleton’s stance with Fox News Digital, debunking the idea that she is still attempting to reconcile Prince William with his estranged brother, Prince Harry. “The idea that Kate somehow still has the time and energy to continue playing peacemaker is rubbish,” Andersen stated, emphasizing how Middleton has grown weary of the long-standing tension within the family.
According to Andersen, Kate had been a key player in attempting to repair the relationship between William and Harry for several years. However, her efforts were ultimately in vain. “She did try over a period of years and finally threw up her hands in disgust,” he explained. “She did her bit, but it wasn’t enough to build a bridge between William and Charles on the one side and Harry on the other.”
The relationship between the brothers took a particularly public turn when Prince Harry detailed an alleged altercation with Prince William in his memoir, Spare. In the book, Harry accuses William of physically attacking him during a heated argument while he was still living in the UK. Harry wrote, “He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor. I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me.”
The rift between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family has been a topic of widespread media attention, particularly since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from their royal duties and moved to the United States. Efforts to mend the relationship, including Middleton’s attempts to serve as a mediator, have consistently failed to yield significant results.
Now, it appears that Kate Middleton is focusing on more productive pursuits, leaving the ongoing feud between the royals in the past. Her decision to stop playing the role of peacemaker suggests that she has chosen to prioritize other aspects of her life, particularly her own family and duties as a senior royal.
