After North West enjoyed a lovely weekend with her stepmother, Bianca Censori, attention has turned to Kim Kardashian’s recent decision to implement stricter rules for her children. The spotlight on Kim’s parenting approach comes after North, Kanye West’s eldest daughter, was seen with the family heading to watch Deadpool & Wolverine in Los Angeles.
This outing followed Kim’s acknowledgment of her sister Khloe Kardashian’s more disciplined parenting style during an episode of The Kardashians. The Skims mogul shared that she had abandoned her previously lenient approach to dealing with her kids, finding success with stricter guidelines. “Well, I think I started to see a therapist and… I just saw her once, but she was like… the simplest thing that she told me was to take down screen time,” Kim revealed.
“Of course, you’re like duh, of course, you know, but having strict rules on like there can be no phones during meals, they’re gonna fight and kick and scream for like a week and then you gotta get through it. I never wanted to deal with that week,” she continued told Daily Mail.
“I mean, I just started implementing stricter scheduling. I know I made fun of Khloe for that and she’s still too militant,” the 43-year-old admitted, showing a new appreciation for her sister’s methods.
Kim previously mentioned that North enjoyed spending time at Kanye’s apartment more than living in her Calabasas mansion. “North, she’ll go to her dad’s, she’ll be like, ‘Dad is the best. He has it all figured out. He doesn’t have a nanny. He doesn’t have a chef. He doesn’t have security. He lives in an apartment,'” Kim said.
The shift in Kim’s parenting philosophy underscores a significant change in how she balances structure and freedom in her household. This new approach appears to be a direct result of her experiences and reflections, influenced by both professional advice and family dynamics. The transition from lenient to more structured parenting reflects Kim’s commitment to creating a stable and nurturing environment for her children, acknowledging that the journey to finding the right balance can be challenging but ultimately rewarding.
