A former employee of King Charles III has spoken out, dispelling rumors that the monarch is difficult to work for and emphasizing that he is “absolutely not a monster.”

King Charles has a substantial household staff of 28 members, which includes four chefs, five house managers, three valets and dressers, and a couple of butlers. Despite the extensive staff and busy office, the former employee described a positive working environment under King Charles.

Speaking to the Daily Beast, the ex-employee said, “Ultimately, people like working for him, but everyone is under a lot of pressure, because his office is incredibly busy.”

The source acknowledged that King Charles, like anyone, can have moments of frustration, saying, “He’s absolutely not a monster in the office, but he is human, and he snaps sometimes. Unfortunately, there is sometimes a camera on him when it happens.”

The former staff member emphasized that King Charles is always well-prepared and respectful in his duties. “In fairness to him, as anyone who has actually worked with him will tell you, he himself is always extremely well-prepared, well-read on the subject matter of people he meets and is working with, diligent and respectful of expertise,” they explained.

This defense of King Charles comes amid ongoing scrutiny and public interest in the working conditions within royal households. The ex-employee’s comments highlight a more nuanced and positive perspective, contrasting with the occasional negative portrayal in the media.

The insight provided by the former staff member paints a picture of a hardworking and dedicated monarch who, despite the pressures and demands of his role, strives to be respectful and diligent in his interactions with his staff and in fulfilling his duties.
