“It’s Like Walking on Eggshells”: King Charles’ Mood Swings and Garden Obsession Raise Concerns Amid Cannabis Use

King Charles is reportedly growing more irritable and difficult to work with as he continues undergoing cancer treatment amid claims that his use of cannabis is contributing to mood swings and obsessive behavior.

According to Radar Online, the monarch’s beloved Highgrove House garden, which he once treated as a serene sanctuary, has now become a source of strain for royal staff. In the last three years, 11 out of 12 gardeners hired to maintain the estate have reportedly quit their jobs, citing poor wages, physical demands, and “an atmosphere of fear and micromanagement.”

Courtiers call it a “sad state of affairs,” especially since gardening has long been King Charles’ personal passion and retreat from royal pressures. However, insiders claim the 76-year-old’s demeanor has changed dramatically in recent months. “He can be perfectly lovely one day and then fly off the handle the next,” a palace source told the outlet.

The insider also pointed to the monarch’s alleged cannabis use, which was initially understood to be part of his medical regimen for cancer relief. “When he’s off the cannabis, he gets tense and impatient, especially if the garden isn’t exactly how he left it. It’s like walking on eggshells,” they added.

“People are starting to question whether it’s still about medical relief, or something else,” the source noted, hinting at deeper concerns about the King’s emotional stability.

One former gardener shared a revealing glimpse into the King’s hyper-critical oversight. “He becomes hyper-focused on tiny details and leaves these red-ink notes that feel more like reprimands than feedback,” said the gardener, who left in 2023.

“Some days, he’d obsess over a single delphinium being an inch too low,” they added. King Charles publicly revealed his cancer diagnosis in early 2024 and has been receiving treatment since. While the nature of his condition remains private, the palace has said he continues to perform duties when possible.

While many sympathize with the monarch during his health battle, the ongoing staff turnover and reports of volatile moods have raised questions behind palace walls. Whether his cannabis use is solely medical or contributing to these concerns remains a subject of speculation.
