Former Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) has stepped into the political spotlight once again, this time leveraging Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk’s recent outburst about women voters to advocate for Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign.
In a pointed response to Kirk’s remarks, Cheney took to Twitter, posting a video of Kirk’s heated appearance on the Megyn Kelly show, where he expressed his disdain for a campaign aimed at encouraging conservative women to vote for Harris, all while keeping it a secret from their families.
Kirk’s animated rant included a vivid depiction of a scenario in which a woman, who he described as a supportive wife of a hard-working husband, secretly votes for Harris instead of Trump. “It’s so gross!” he exclaimed. “It’s just so nauseating where this wife… who comes in with her sweet husband who probably works his tail off to make sure that she can go and, you know, have a nice life, provides for the family.
And then she lies to him, saying, ‘Oh yeah I’m going to vote for Trump,’ and then she votes for Kamala Harris as her little secret in the voting booth.” Kirk went on to assert that Harris and her team believe there are countless women who will secretly undermine their husbands’ political preferences, claiming, “Kamala Harris and her team believe that there will be millions of women that undermine their husbands and do so in a way that it’s not detectable in the polling!”
Cheney didn’t hold back in her criticism of Kirk’s comments, responding with sharp sarcasm, “Listen to this twit make Donald Trump’s closing argument. Women, you know what to do. Vote Kamala.” Her remarks signal a clear alignment with the message that women voters should feel empowered to support candidates like Harris, regardless of their husbands’ political affiliations.
This incident underscores Cheney’s continued departure from the Republican Party’s mainstream, particularly in her strong opposition to former President Donald Trump.
