Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) delivered a blunt warning to her party during a recent interview, cautioning that the GOP is on track to “lose the midterms” if they fail to deliver on the promises made to Donald Trump’s MAGA base.
Speaking to Steve Bannon on his “War Room” show Monday, Greene didn’t hold back. When asked what advice she’d give to former President Trump amid ongoing legislative efforts tied to his agenda, Greene said plainly: “Stick with the agenda and ignore the people here in Washington that are trying to get you to do something different. It’s the Republicans that are the problem, Steve.”
She emphasized the importance of following through on campaign promises, stating, “Stick to the program! And understand that the way to win the midterms is by the House and the Senate delivering the campaign promises because Trump’s not on that, he’s not on the ballot in 2026.”
Greene argued that the GOP risks losing control of the House if it continues to disappoint Trump’s base. She laid out several issues she believes are critical to voters, including vaccine mandates, taxes, and executive orders, according to the Raw Story.
“I’m telling you. If you ignore the parents that are furious over COVID vaccines being on their childhood vaccine schedule, you’re gonna lose the midterms,” she warned. “If you ignore the campaign promises of no tax on tips, overtime, and Social Security, you’re going to lose the midterms.”
Greene also highlighted the significance of Trump’s executive orders and the public’s favorable reaction to them: “If you ignore the executive orders, the American people are like, yes, applauding for every single day, we’re going to lose the midterms!”
In her view, Republicans must campaign on more than just defending Trump from impeachment threats, suggesting that message fatigue has already set in with voters.
“If we’re campaigning in 2026 on, you have to vote for Republicans because the Democrats are going to impeach Trump, the American people are gonna go, we don’t care, we’ve seen that TV show before,” she said.
With tensions rising within the party, Greene’s comments are a direct challenge to GOP leadership to realign with Trump’s agenda—or risk losing support at the ballot box.
