Eric Trump Calls Meghan and Harry ‘Bad Apples’ as Sussexes Plan ‘Desperate’ Return to Royal Family

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly contemplating a “desperate” return to the royal family after receiving a stark warning while living in the United States. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have recently been labeled the “bad apples” of the royal family by Eric Trump, son of former U.S. President Donald Trump. In an interview with GB News, Eric Trump expressed his and his father’s strong admiration for the late Queen Elizabeth II, contrasting it with his views on the Sussexes.

“What I can tell you is, my father had so much respect for the [late] Queen, as did I. My mum knew so many of them for years and had a great relationship with Diana,” Trump shared. Trump went on to describe the royal family as a “sacred institution” and appeared to issue a subtle threat to Harry and Meghan, saying, “You can happily have those two [Meghan and Harry], we might not want them anymore, it feels like they’re on an island of their own.”

His comments reflect a broader sentiment among some in the U.S. who view the couple’s actions as increasingly out of step with the traditional values of the British monarchy. As speculation mounts about Harry and Meghan’s next move, royal commentator Richard Eden suggested that the couple may be seeking to repair their fractured relationships with key members of the royal family. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Eden observed, “It seems quite clear that they are desperate to start healing the rift.”

Adding to the speculation, during their recent four-day trip to Colombia, the Sussexes notably refrained from making any controversial remarks about the royal family. This departure from their usual candidness has been interpreted by some as a sign of their desire to mend fences with King Charles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton.

The couple’s efforts to rebuild their relationship with the royal family come at a time when they appear increasingly isolated. With their post-royal ventures in the U.S. facing challenges, their potential return to royal duties in some capacity might be seen as an attempt to regain stability and connection with the family they once distanced themselves from.

Whether their efforts will be successful remains to be seen, but it is clear that Meghan and Harry are navigating a delicate situation as they seek to reconcile with the family and the institution they once left behind.
