A royal expert has shared a scathing assessment of Meghan Markle’s role in the ongoing tensions between Prince Harry, Prince William, and the wider royal family.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, claimed Meghan remains a central figure in the feud between the royal brothers.
“The flea in the ointment really is very much Meghan,” Seward stated. “She’s disliked intensely by a large number of the monarchists of this country. They see her as being very… damaging to the royal family. And also, I think a lot of people in America feel the same. They don’t like that Meghan [reportedly] dissed her husband’s family and dissed her own family.”
Seward further noted that Meghan’s estrangement from both her in-laws and her own relatives continues to shape public opinion. “I think people in the States find that extremely odd, and [we] find it very odd here. And I think that’s a real black mark against Meghan’s character. I think she hasn’t been able to embrace… her own family, however much she feels about them.”
The royal expert added that these long-standing family dynamics have left unresolved tensions. “There are a lot of difficult emotions [to] get over there,” she remarked.
The comments come as speculation grows about Prince Harry’s desire to reconcile with the royal family. Reports suggest the Duke of Sussex has privately expressed a willingness to repair ties, particularly with his brother Prince William, though the path forward remains uncertain.
The rift between the Sussexes and the royal family has been well-documented since Harry and Meghan stepped down from senior royal duties in 2020 and moved to California. The couple has since spoken openly about their struggles within the institution, including in a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 and Harry’s memoir Spare.
While Meghan has maintained a lower profile in recent months, her influence on Harry’s decisions and the family divide continues to be a subject of debate among royal watchers. Seward’s sharp remarks highlight just how contentious public perceptions of Meghan remain on both sides of the Atlantic.
For now, Harry’s reported wish for peace stands in stark contrast to the criticisms that persist about his wife a “black mark” that experts say may continue to complicate any reconciliation.
