Jake E. Lee, guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne, Badlands, and Red Dragon Cartel, was shot multiple times in a street shooting in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Oct. 15, his representative and the Las Vegas Police Department have confirmed to HELLO.
The 67-year-old musician is currently receiving treatment at a Las Vegas hospital’s intensive care unit. His representative shared that Lee is “fully conscious and doing well” and is expected to “fully recover” from the injuries.
Authorities in Las Vegas believe the shooting was completely random. The incident occurred early in the morning, around 2:45 a.m. local time, according to the Las Vegas Police Department. Lee’s rep explained that he was out walking his dog at the time of the shooting.
“Lee and his family appreciate respecting their privacy at this time,” the statement concluded, urging for space during this difficult period.
Las Vegas police are currently investigating the shooting, but no arrests have been made as of yet.
Lee is widely known for his work alongside Ozzy Osbourne in the 1980s, contributing to Osbourne’s solo career during a period that produced iconic albums. Later, Lee went on to form the band Badlands in 1988 with fellow musicians Ray Gillen and Eric Singer.
