Prince Harry is anticipated to make another difficult decision regarding his family, opting not to attend the funeral of his uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes. Lord Fellowes, who passed away on Monday at the age of 82 from undisclosed causes, was the brother-in-law of Princess Diana and a significant figure within the Royal Family.

As the royals prepare to gather for this significant funeral, Harry’s absence is expected, according to a former friend. Speaking to the Daily Beast, the friend claimed that Harry will likely skip the funeral to avoid exacerbating the ongoing rift with the Royal Family. The insider shared, “The death will be a huge blow to the Spencer family. In normal times it would be unimaginable that Harry would not be there to support Jane. Of course, he would want to be there. It will be a huge gathering of the Spencer clan.

But these are not normal times and it may well be that everyone feels Harry’s attendance would just create too much drama.” The friend added, “It will be very sad for him if he can’t make it.”

Lord Robert Fellowes served as Private Secretary to the late Queen Elizabeth II from 1990 to 1999. He was married to Lady Jane Spencer, Princess Diana’s sister, and was also a maternal first cousin of Ronald Ferguson, the father of Sarah Ferguson. His death marks a significant loss for the Spencer family and the broader royal community.

Prince William, along with other royals, is expected to attend the funeral. The gathering will undoubtedly be a somber occasion, reflecting on Lord Fellowes’ contributions and the familial bonds within the Royal Family.

The situation underscores the ongoing tensions between Prince Harry and the rest of the royals. Harry’s decision to potentially miss the funeral highlights the delicate balance he must maintain amid the public and private complexities of his relationship with his family.

As the royal family mourns the loss of Lord Fellowes, Harry’s likely absence will be a poignant reminder of the current state of affairs. The decision not to attend is seen as an effort to avoid further conflict, but it also brings sadness, as the insider mentioned, “It will be very sad for him if he can’t make it.”

This development comes in the wake of numerous challenges and public scrutiny faced by Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, further complicating his relationship with his family. The funeral of Lord Fellowes, a respected figure and integral part of the royal inner circle, will proceed with a notable absence that speaks volumes about the current dynamics within the British Royal Family.
