The Real Reason Prince Harry Wanted to Change His Children’s Names Finally Revealed

There was one reason that led Prince Harry to wanting to change the surname of his kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The reason for this has been brought forward by The Guardian and according to their findings; it was a well-placed insider close to the Sussexes that put the speculations to rest.

“There was clear reluctance to issue passports for the kids,” the insider began by saying. Even in some applications, their last names were written as ‘Sussex’ instead of ‘Mountbatten-Windsor.

It was also reported that even King Charles “hadn’t wanted Archie and Lili to carry the titles, most of all the HRH”.

Because “the British passports, once created, would be the first and perhaps the only legal proof of their names.”

This is what led to Prince Harry seeking counsel from his Uncle Earl Spencer, and it came out of “sheer exasperation” the source explained.

Even Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been barred from using their HRH for commercial ventures now that they are not senior members of the Royal Family.

However, given that their grandfather is the King of England, the two Sussex kids did receive the titles of ‘prince’ and ‘princess’.

The New York Post also went as far as to say that the Sussexes faced over a three-month delay when trying to create British passports for the two toddlers, due to unspecified “technical issues.”

The matter moved forward only after a strongly worded essay made its way from the couple’s legal team that warned they will be asking for a data subject access request.

Per the same insider, “Harry was at a point where British passports for his children with their updated Sussex surnames (since the death of Elizabeth II) were being blocked with a string of excuses over the course of five months.”

“Out of sheer exasperation he went to his uncle to effectively say, ‘My family are supposed to have the same name and they’re stopping that from happening because the kids are legally HRH, so if push comes to shove, if this blows up and they won’t let the kids be called Sussex, then can we use Spencer as a surname?’”
