A recent news report revealed former president Donald Trump’s views on pop superstar Taylor Swift, which will be disclosed in an upcoming book about The Apprentice. The book, titled Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass, alleges that Trump admired Swift’s looks but claimed to dislike her politics, suggesting she might be faking it.
In a series of interviews with Variety co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh, Trump discussed his perspective on Swift, stating, “I think she’s beautiful – very beautiful. I find her very beautiful.” He added, “I think she’s liberal. She probably doesn’t like Trump. I hear she’s very talented.” Trump reiterated, “I think she’s very beautiful, actually — unusually beautiful,” and questioned if the pop superstar was a genuine liberal, asking, “She’s legitimately liberal? It’s not an act? It surprises me that a country star can be successful being liberal.”
Meanwhile, Stephen Colbert ironically questioned Trump for his odd criticism of the pop icon, as reported by HuffPost. Colbert mockingly said that Trump was surprised that a “beautiful” person might not like him. Colbert quipped, “He seems kind of surprised that someone can be beautiful and not like him. Has he never met his wife?”
The book excerpt released on Monday provided these insights into Trump’s perspective on Swift, sparking reactions. When questioned about Swift’s music, Trump simply said, “Don’t know it well.”
This is not the first time Trump has spoken about Swift recently. In September of last year, Trump commented on the relationship between Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce. As reported by Billboard, he said, “I wish the best for both of them. I hope they enjoy their life, maybe together, maybe not — most likely not”, as reported by Fox News.
Additionally, there were rumors of Swift endorsing President Joe Biden. Trump boasted about his role in the Music Modernization Act on Truth Social, writing, “I signed and was responsible for the Music Modernization Act for Taylor Swift and all other Musical Artists. Joe Biden didn’t do anything for Taylor, and never will.”
As reported by Mercury News, Trump added, “There’s no way she could endorse Crooked Joe Biden, the worst and most corrupt President in the History of our Country, and be disloyal to the man who made her so much money. Besides that, I like her boyfriend, Travis, even though he may be a Liberal, and probably can’t stand me!”
