After months of criticizing President Joe Biden, Donald Trump shifted gears on Thursday, positioning himself as a defender of Biden while launching a fresh attack on the Democratic Party and Biden’s former allies. Trump took to his Truth Social platform to express his views on Biden’s treatment by the Democratic Party.

In his post, Trump described Biden as having been mistreated by his party and former friends. “He is an angry man, as he should be,” Trump wrote. He further asserted, “They stole the Presidency from him — ‘It was a Coup!’”

Trump’s comments were prompted by reports that Biden has been scheduled to speak at the Democratic National Convention on Monday. According to Trump, this speaking slot on the convention’s opening night is typically reserved for less prominent figures. “It was the quietest night of the event which usually saw B-list speakers,” Trump said during a speech in North Carolina on Wednesday, told Raw Story.

The former president also criticized Vice President Kamala Harris, suggesting that she has distanced herself from Biden. “Kamala Harris wants NOTHING TO DO WITH CROOKED JOE BIDEN,” Trump claimed. He labeled the Monday night speaking slot as “Death Valley” and implied that Biden’s former allies, including Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi, have contributed to his current predicament. “He now HATES Obama and Crazy Nancy more than he hates me! He is an angry man, as he should be. They stole the Presidency from him — ‘It was a Coup!’” Trump wrote.

Despite Biden’s reluctance to step down from his presidential campaign amid concerns about his mental fitness, he eventually endorsed Harris as his successor. Biden has not publicly expressed any anger or dissatisfaction with his party or allies.

Trump is set to hold a press conference later Thursday at his New Jersey estate, although the subject of the briefing has not yet been disclosed. The press conference will likely address various topics, potentially including his recent remarks on Biden and the Democratic Party.
