President Joe Biden withdrew from the 2024 presidential race on Sunday, citing health reasons due to COVID-19 while recovering at his vacation retreat in Rehoboth, Delaware. Former President Donald Trump, responding swiftly on Truth Social, questioned the authenticity of Biden’s diagnosis, labeling it as fake.

In a series of posts, Trump criticized Biden’s decision, asserting, “Biden never had COVID-19. He is a threat to Democracy!” Trump continued, “If he can’t run for office, he can’t run our country!!!” He also speculated about who might be currently leading the nation, suggesting Biden’s incapacity to fulfill his presidential duties, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Regarding the upcoming presidential debates, Trump suggested moving the venue from ABC to Fox News, citing bias concerns. He recalled the previous debate on June 27, where he claimed to have had an advantageous environment, with no live fact-checking.

“Does anybody really believe that Crooked Joe had COVID-19? No,” Trump reiterated, alleging Biden’s attempt to avoid further debates following what he described as a damaging performance. “That was the big moment in Joe Biden’s demise,” he added, emphasizing Biden’s alleged incompetence and unfitness for office.

According to BBC, Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris, expected to step in as the Democratic nominee after Biden’s withdrawal, faces a mixed reception in polls. While she leads Trump by a narrow margin in Virginia, she trails behind him in Georgia, indicating potential challenges in key swing states.

In response to Biden’s endorsement, Harris expressed gratitude and determination to earn the Democratic nomination. “I thank Joe Biden for his extraordinary leadership as President of the United States and his decades of service to our country,” she stated on her X account. “My intention is to earn and win this nomination.”

The developments mark a significant shift in the 2024 presidential race, with Biden’s exit prompting intense reactions from political figures and setting the stage for Harris to consolidate her campaign amid varying poll results and strategic considerations. This reimagined news article maintains the essence of the original quotes while providing a structured narrative around the events unfolding in the political arena.

On behalf of the American people, I thank Joe Biden for his extraordinary leadership as President of the United States and for his decades of service to our country.

I am honored to have the President’s endorsement and my intention is to earn and win this nomination.
