Donald Trump has once again taken aim at the media, this time blasting MSNBC after the network mocked the president over reports that he is attempting to conceal his swollen ankles from public view.
In a fiery all-caps post on Truth Social, the 79-year-old Republican railed against the network’s ratings struggles and its planned rebrand under the name MS NOW, short for My Source News Opinion World.
“MSNBC IS DOING SO POORLY IN THE RATINGS THAT THEY ARE LOOKING TO CHANGE THEIR NAME IN ORDER TO GET AWAY FROM THE STENCH OF THEIR FAKE NEWS PRODUCT,” Trump wrote. “SO MUCH FUN TO WATCH THEIR WEAK AND INEFFECTIVE OWNER, ‘CONCAST,’ HEADED BY DOPEY BRIAN ROBERTS, HOPELESSLY AND AIMLESSLY FLAILING IN THE WIND IN AN ATTEMPT TO DISASSOCIATE ITSELF FROM THE GARBAGE THAT THEY CREATED! MSNBC IS A FAILURE BY ANY NAME!!!”
Trump’s tirade followed remarks from MSNBC anchor Lawrence O’Donnell, who used his show The Last Word to ridicule the president’s unusual decision to remain seated behind the Resolute Desk during a meeting with European leaders at the White House earlier this week. Typically, such events are staged in front of the fireplace.
According to O’Donnell, Trump made the adjustment to ensure “no one was going to compare his ankles to a French president’s ankles or a German chancellor’s or a British prime minister’s.”

The jibe came after Trump’s recent appearance with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, where the two leaders sat side by side in chairs. O’Donnell quipped that Putin’s “72-year-old ankles showed none of the mileage” compared to Trump’s, whose visibly swollen ankles drew attention.
Adding to the speculation, the White House released an official photo of Trump’s meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that conveniently showed a scale model of Air Force One placed in front of the president’s ankles, leading critics to suggest deliberate image management.
Medical experts note that swelling in the ankles is often a sign of chronic venous insufficiency, a common condition among older men caused by weakened vein valves that prevent proper blood circulation. O’Donnell went further, suggesting Trump’s lifestyle choices may have worsened the problem.
“That’s one of the ways a lifetime of McDonald’s junk food catches up with you,” O’Donnell said. “One of the places those Big Macs are going to show up is in the ankles hanging over the edge of your shoes.”
