Just hours after issuing a late-night warning to Iran, President Donald Trump returned to Truth Social with a flurry of bold claims and calls for diplomacy. In a post made Saturday, Trump urged, with a flurry of bold claims and calls for diplomacy. In a post made Saturday, Trump urged, “Iran and Israel should make a deal, and will make a deal,” before touting his involvement in a series of past international conflicts and lamenting the lack of recognition he feels he receives.
The post came amid criticism over a sparsely attended military parade held in honor of his birthday a costly event many viewed as wasteful. Despite the backlash, Trump quickly shifted the focus to global affairs.
He claimed credit for brokering peace or at least temporary stability between several nations during his presidency. “Just like I got India and Pakistan to make [a deal], in that case by using TRADE with the United States to bring reason, cohesion, and sanity into the talks with two excellent leaders who were able to quickly make a decision and STOP!” Trump wrote.
The president also cited his role in easing tensions between Serbia and Kosovo: “This long time conflict was ready to break out into WAR. I stopped it (Biden has hurt the longer term prospects with some very stupid decisions, but I will fix it, again!).”
Trump then turned to the Nile River dispute between Egypt and Ethiopia, saying, “There is peace, at least for now, because of my intervention, and it will stay that way!”
In a particularly ambitious claim, Trump suggested he is already working behind the scenes to resolve tensions between Israel and Iran, saying, “Likewise, we will have PEACE, soon, between Israel and Iran! Many calls and meetings now taking place.”
Without citing specifics or providing supporting evidence, Trump concluded his message with a familiar theme: “I do a lot, and never get credit for anything, but that’s OK, the PEOPLE understand. MAKE THE MIDDLE EAST GREAT AGAIN!”
The post sparked immediate reactions online, with critics questioning the accuracy of his claims and supporters applauding his assertive approach to foreign policy. Whether any of these proposed diplomatic breakthroughs will materialize remains uncertain—but Trump appears eager to cast himself as a global peacemaker ahead of a potential 2024 rematch.
