Former President Donald Trump unleashed a barrage of criticism against Joe Biden following Biden’s surprise announcement to withdraw from the Presidential race. Trump, taking to Truth Social, lambasted Biden’s suitability for office, declaring, “Crooked Joe Biden was not fit to run for President, and is certainly not fit to serve – and never was!”
In a scathing assessment, Trump accused Biden of attaining the presidency through deceit and incompetence, stating, “He only attained the position of President by lies, fake news, and not leaving his basement.” Trump further pointed fingers at Biden’s management, alleging that his administration had exacerbated national issues, particularly immigration.
“Look what he’s done to our Country, with millions of people coming across our Border, totally unchecked and unvetted, many from prisons, mental institutions, and record numbers of terrorists,” Trump asserted, promising to swiftly correct what he described as Biden’s damaging policies. “We will suffer greatly because of his presidency, but we will remedy the damage he has done very quickly. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Biden’s decision to step aside came amidst mounting concerns over his health and a notably poor debate performance. Addressing the nation via Twitter, Biden expressed gratitude for his tenure, remarking, “It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President.” While reaffirming his commitment to his current term, Biden cited the best interests of his party and the nation as reasons for his withdrawal from the race.
“I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.” In a move to consolidate Democratic support, Biden threw his weight behind Vice President Kamala Harris as his successor. “My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President.
And it’s been the best decision I’ve made,” Biden affirmed, urging unity within the Democratic ranks to defeat Trump in the upcoming election. “Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats – it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.”
With Biden’s exit reshaping the political landscape, Trump’s forceful critique sets the stage for a contentious electoral battle ahead, emphasizing stark contrasts in leadership styles and policy approaches between the two parties. As the election cycle gains momentum, Trump’s pledge to undo what he perceives as Biden’s missteps underscores the high stakes in the race for the White House.
