As summer approaches, Prince William and Kate Middleton are making plans to spend more quality time together with a focus on long walks, romantic dinners, and quiet getaways, especially as Kate is said to be “still fragile.”
According to Life & Style magazine, the Prince and Princess of Wales are looking to take advantage of a calmer summer following Kate’s health battle. A source told the outlet that William had stepped up significantly during his wife’s illness, juggling royal responsibilities while supporting his family.
“William really stepped up during Kate’s illness. He took on so many extra duties even in the midst of dealing with a sick wife. It’s what had to be done, and he got on with it, but it certainly took a huge toll.”
Now that Kate is doing better, Prince William is reportedly eager to prioritize time together. “That she’s feeling better and the constant fear of losing her has eased off, William’s big focus has been on making the most of their time and this second chance at life together,” the insider added.
The source also revealed that William has already spoken to King Charles about easing his workload. “He’s gotten the go-ahead to tone down the frenetic pace,” they said, explaining that, “Charles doesn’t want to see William burn out and he certainly doesn’t want to overload Kate when she’s still fragile.”
The monarch’s support has allowed the couple to take a breath and reset. “He’s told her and William to take whatever time they need. They won’t go overboard but they are very keen to pull back a little so they can focus on each other more.” That means carving out more private moments for themselves: “more romantic dinners, more long walks and more holidays.”
The couple’s summer plans are already being shaped, and they include both family and couple’s retreats. “They’re mapping out summer plans right now, with the usual family trips to Cornwall, and the Isles of Scilly, but they’re also looking to take a romantic holiday just the two of them and talking about going back to the Seychelles where they honeymooned,” the source concluded.
