‘So God Made Trump’: Bizarre Video Shared by Donald Trump Sparks Controversy

In a move that left many stunned, Donald Trump shared a bizarre video on January 5 that depicted him as a divine savior of America. Posted on his Truth Social handle with the caption “So God made Trump,” the video sparked mixed reactions across social media. According to CNN, the narration in the video was attributed to American broadcaster Paul Harvey, albeit generated via artificial intelligence.

The video begins with a dramatic statement: “And on June 14, 1946, God looked down on his planned paradise, and said, ‘I need a caretaker.’ So God gave us Trump.” This bold claim immediately set the tone for the rest of the video, which positioned Trump as a messianic figure sent to rescue the nation. According to The Independent, the narration continued, “God said, ‘I need somebody willing to get up before dawn, fix this country, work all day, fight the Marxists, eat supper, then go to the Oval Office and stay up past midnight at a meeting of the heads of state.’ So God made Trump.”

The video, which hailed Trump for everything from “ruffling feathers” to “taming the cantankerous World Economic Forum,” painted an almost mythic image of the former president. It even claimed Trump was “gentle enough to deliver his own grandchild” while also being tough enough to take on the so-called “deep state.” The video further stated, “I need somebody who can shape an axe but wield a sword, who had the courage to set foot in North Korea, who can make money from the tar of the sand, turn liquid to gold, who understands the difference between tariffs and inflation.”

The concept for the video was inspired by Paul Harvey’s famous 1978 speech at the Future Farmers of America convention, titled So God Made a Farmer. The creators of the video, a pro-Trump meme group known as Dilley Meme Team, have been vocal about their support for Trump. According to Snopes, their website proudly declares, “Often shared by the man himself, and played at the rallies, we’ve been fighting fake narratives of the commies and fascists for years – BY ANY MEMES NECESSARY.”

While many of Trump’s supporters praised the video for its strong message, others found its religious undertones disturbing. One user on Truth Social, @ZiffyKat, responded enthusiastically, writing, “That’s so beautiful and every word is true. I have never doubted that God anointed you and appointed you for such a time as this.” On the other hand, @JohnFlyover expressed discomfort, stating, “I don’t like this. I am a Trump supporter, but God made everyone. We’re electing a President, not a Pope.”

The video also gained traction on other social media platforms, with prominent conservatives like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Laura Loomer sharing it on X (formerly Twitter). However, the clip continues to provoke debate, drawing both praise and criticism for its depiction of Trump as a divinely appointed leader.

I don't like this. I am a Trump supporter, but God made everyone. We're electing a President, not a Pope.

This is what I replied to him under his post on Truth Social: “That’s so beautiful and every word is true. I have never doubted that God anointed you and appointed you for such a time as this. When you know, you know.” 🇺🇸
