Meghan Markle has undergone a remarkable beauty transformation, fully embracing the laid-back, sun-kissed “Californian girl-next-door” aesthetic, according to makeup artist Margherita Lascala. In an exclusive interview with GB News, Lascala shared her insights into how Meghan’s style has evolved since her move back to her home state of California.

Originally from Los Angeles, Meghan now resides in Santa Barbara with her husband, Prince Harry, and their two children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3. Since stepping back from royal duties and relocating to California in 2020, Meghan’s beauty routine has naturally adapted to reflect her more relaxed lifestyle in the Golden State.

Lascala noted that Meghan has always been proud of her natural features, particularly her freckles. Rather than concealing them with heavy makeup, Meghan has opted for lighter, more breathable products. “Meghan’s beauty routine is all about enhancing her natural look,” Lascala shared, adding that the Duchess is known to favor products like skin tints and tinted moisturizers, which allow her freckles to shine through.

One of the products Lascala highlighted is the Lisa Eldridge Skin Tint, a lightweight formula popular among makeup artists for its sheer coverage and natural finish. Additionally, Laura Mercier’s tinted moisturizer is another go-to product for achieving a dewy, effortless glow—both ideal for someone living in the sun-drenched climate of California.

Lascala went on to describe Meghan’s makeup application technique, noting that she likely uses a round brush to create a soft, natural look. “She probably uses concealer sparingly, focusing mainly on the under-eye area, and finishes with a light dusting of powder on the T-zone to keep her look polished,” Lascala explained.

For that radiant Californian glow, Lascala suggests Meghan may enhance her complexion with products like Pat McGrath Labs’ highlighter balm, which adds a subtle sheen. To further accentuate her signature freckles, she may even use a brow pencil to lightly dot them, completing her fresh, natural appearance.

Since moving back to California, Meghan has embraced the carefree lifestyle that reflects her West Coast roots. Now 43, Meghan and her husband, Harry, 40, have settled into their home in Santa Barbara after leaving behind their roles as senior members of the British royal family.

The couple first captured global attention when they tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, on May 19, 2018. A year later, they welcomed their first child, Archie Harrison, on May 6, 2019. However, in January 2020, the couple announced their decision to step back from royal duties, opting instead for a more private life in California. Their daughter, Princess Lilibet Diana, was born in June 2021, solidifying their family life in the United States.

As Meghan continues to settle into her life in California, her beauty routine mirrors her laid-back yet sophisticated persona. With her focus on enhancing her natural features and embracing a fresh, radiant look, Meghan has truly embodied the “Californian girl-next-door” aesthetic, all while maintaining her sense of individuality.
