Brad Pitt’s representative has issued a statement following the shocking revelation that a French woman, Anne, fell victim to a scam believing she was in a relationship with the actor. The scam led her to send $850,000 to the fraudsters and ultimately take a divorce from her husband in hopes of being with Pitt.
Anne was tricked into believing she was communicating with Brad Pitt after receiving multiple AI-generated photos of the actor in a hospital. The scammers posed as Pitt’s mother and convinced her that he needed financial help for treatment.
In response, Pitt’s representative addressed the situation, stating to Entertainment Weekly, “It’s awful that scammers take advantage of fans’ strong connection with celebrities. But this is an important reminder to not respond to unsolicited online outreach, especially from actors who have no social media presence.”
Anne shared her experience, revealing that she was first contacted by someone posing as Pitt’s mother. “She told me that her son needed someone like me,” Anne explained.
“At first I said to myself that it was fake, that it’s ridiculous,” Anne told TF1 (via France 24). “But I’m not used to social media, and I didn’t really understand what was happening to me.”
“I was in love with the man I was chatting to,” she told Seven to Eight, per The Guardian. “He knew how to speak to a woman.” Brad Pitt has been dating Ines de Ramon for over a year, and sources suggest the relationship is becoming serious.
