Prince Harry received ‘message’ from William despite being not on speaking terms

Despite their ongoing estrangement, Prince William reportedly reached out to his brother Prince Harry for a deeply personal reason to honor the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Though the brothers have been distant since Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duties in 2020, a rare moment of unity came in the days following the Queen’s death. According to The Mirror, it was William who initiated contact, sending Harry a text in a bid to set aside their rift, if only briefly, for the sake of their beloved grandmother.

The gesture led to the once-called “Fab Four” William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan — reuniting for a public appearance outside Windsor Castle. The group made a “Long Walk” to view floral tributes and greet mourners who had gathered to pay their respects to the Queen.

The reunion was notable not just for the occasion, but for how quickly it was arranged. As The Daily Mail reported, “It happened very quickly remarkable really considering they didn’t see each other in Scotland.”

The surprise walkabout was reportedly suggested by William, despite ongoing tensions between the brothers. According to the outlet, King Charles III was not in favor of the idea, but William felt it was important to show unity, at least symbolically, during the national mourning period.

Tensions between the princes escalated significantly after Harry released his memoir Spare, which detailed private family matters and included critical commentary on royal life. Since then, communication between the two has been minimal, with sources saying they are no longer on speaking terms.

Their brief public appearance following the Queen’s passing remains the only time they have been seen together since 2020. While hopes for a lasting reconciliation remain uncertain, William’s decision to reach out highlighted the emotional weight of the moment and the Queen’s unifying presence in the royal family.
