Dakota Johnson isn’t afraid to get creative when it comes to standing up for her friends even if it involves something as bizarre as mailing gorilla poop.
During a recent lie detector interview with Vanity Fair, the Materialists actress made a surprising confession. When asked if she had ever done anything to retaliate against someone who hurt a close friend, Johnson, 35, admitted, “I mean, there’s no way that he would watch this, so, yes, I did do that.”
The “that” in question? Sending a gallon of gorilla feces to a man who had broken her friend’s heart.
Johnson, clearly amused by her own bold behavior, added, “And it’s been quite a while. It’s been some years.” The polygraph administrator confirmed that her answer was indeed truthful.
When asked how she pulled off such a bizarre stunt, Johnson revealed she used a particular website. “You can order any kind, any size,” she said, implying the process was surprisingly easy and anonymous.
The quirky moment didn’t stop there. Johnson burst into laughter when asked if she also knew how to “order public crabs online,” but was quick to deny going that far. “No! Good Lord, I’m not a monster,” she replied, still chuckling.
This unusual revelation comes shortly after news of Johnson’s split from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. The two had a nearly eight-year on-and-off relationship, and despite being seen together in Malibu as recently as May 16, multiple sources told People that the breakup “feels final this time.”
Johnson has long kept her personal life private, and her mother, actress Melanie Griffith, has respected that. While Griffith had previously spoken warmly about Martin “I adore him!” she declined to comment further, saying, “She is very private about her life and I respect that.”
Johnson’s prank might be unconventional, but it certainly showcases her loyalty and sense of humor. Whether sending gorilla poop or dodging personal questions with charm, Dakota Johnson continues to surprise fans in the most unexpected ways.
