Country music star Garth Brooks, 62, is facing the possibility of a lengthy legal battle following serious sexual assault allegations made against him. During a Facebook Live segment of his show Inside Studio G, on Monday, October 7, Brooks briefly addressed the situation, indicating that legal proceedings could last up to two years.
“Lots happened in the last two weeks. Let’s address the elephant in the room, shall we?” Brooks said at the start of his video, directly confronting the situation. “This thing is on; it’s gonna happen,” he added. He acknowledged the looming legal fight, explaining, “People are telling me it could be up to two years. So my suggestion is, we all take a deep breath, just kinda settle in and let’s hold hands and take a trip together. Because it is something that we cannot talk about. The sexual assault allegations against Brooks stem from a lawsuit filed on October 3 in California by a former hairstylist and makeup artist, identified as “Jane Roe.” Roe, who had worked with Brooks for 15 years, accused the singer of inappropriate behavior that began in 2019. According to the lawsuit, Roe claims that during a styling appointment at Brooks’ home, she witnessed him exiting the shower naked and allegedly coerced her into touching his genitalia.
