Sean “Diddy” Combs, currently facing a storm of legal battles ranging from racketeering to sex trafficking, has secured a limited courtroom win in his ongoing case against ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.

According to AllHipHop, U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian ruled that Combs’ legal team is entitled to access Ventura’s unpublished memoir, which she previously submitted to the government. The decision marks a small but potentially significant development in the lead-up to the highly anticipated trial.

Cassie, 38, is expected to testify in court with allegations that Diddy abused her during their relationship. However, Combs’ attorneys have argued that the contents of her unreleased book may contradict her current statements and could be used to undermine her credibility during the trial.

Although Ventura’s legal team attempted to block the subpoena for the manuscript, calling it unnecessary, the judge dismissed the objection and ordered that the materials be handed over to Combs’ lawyers no later than April 25.

The judge’s decision has fueled speculation over how the unpublished memoir could influence the proceedings. Combs’ legal representatives believe that any inconsistencies between the manuscript and Ventura’s upcoming testimony might serve to discredit her in the eyes of the jury.

While this is only one of several legal challenges facing the music mogul, it’s the first notable courtroom development in the case involving Ventura, whose relationship with Diddy ended years ago but has since become central to explosive allegations.

The upcoming trial, scheduled to begin on May 5, will see Ventura take the stand against her former partner, alleging years of abuse that she claims she’s now ready to speak publicly about. Her testimony is expected to play a pivotal role in the trial.

Combs, who has denied all accusations, continues to maintain his innocence across a number of separate lawsuits. The music executive’s legal woes have recently grown more intense, with federal investigations and mounting claims from multiple plaintiffs.

Despite this limited legal win regarding Ventura’s manuscript, Diddy remains entangled in a much larger and more complex legal fight — one that could take months or even years to fully resolve. As the trial date nears, all eyes are on how Ventura’s memoir and testimony will unfold, and whether Diddy’s team can use her unpublished words to their advantage in court.
