Kate Middleton replaces Prince William's engagement ring with a stack of eternity rings

Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, has subtly shifted her style, drawing attention with a notable change in her jewelry. Once frequently seen wearing her iconic sapphire engagement ring an heirloom that once belonged to Princess Diana Kate has recently been opting for a more understated look by stacking elegant eternity rings on her finger instead.

The engagement ring, famously given to her by Prince William in 2011 and originally purchased by Prince Charles for Diana in 1981, appears to be making fewer public appearances. In its place, Kate now wears a set of delicate eternity rings that many believe hold deep personal meaning.

Among the stack, one ring is thought to be a thirteenth wedding anniversary gift from Prince William. Valued at approximately £4,700, it is the most valuable piece in the set. Another band, featuring white diamonds, is estimated to be worth around £1,000.

Jewelry expert Maxwell Stone explained the thoughtful design behind the rings to MailOnline, saying, “A thoughtfully chosen piece, complementing her other rings while maintaining a refined simplicity.” He added, “Kate’s choice of rings suggests that she values subtlety and meaning over grandeur, while still maintaining an air of elegance and sophistication.”

The eternity rings also carry sentimental weight. One of them, a diamond eternity ring, was reportedly a gift from William to Kate following the birth of their first child, Prince George. While the iconic sapphire ring remains a treasured piece with historical significance, Kate’s shift toward these simpler bands appears to reflect a more personal expression of love and commitment.

“Though her engagement ring has been seen less frequently, her continued display of commitment to Prince William through her eternity rings speaks to her desire for personal and understated expressions of love,” said Stone.
